YEREVAN. – The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia will publicize the information on voter turnout at the snap National Assemble elections every three hours, and it will start the tabulation of voting results as of midnight.

CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Sunday.

“[A total of] 2,592,486 voters are on the electoral roll for the snap National Assembly elections of the Republic of Armenia,” Mukuchyan informed. “A total of 465 [Armenian] citizens have already fulfilled their civil duty, during the period from November 31 to December 2, [and] by way of electronic voting.”

He added that there were 1,444 MP candidates on the electoral lists of the parties and alliances that are running for parliament.

The CEC chief noted that twelve candidates from Armenia’s four national minorities were on the separate electoral lists of these political forces.

“[A total of] 505 international observers of eight international and foreign organizations, and 17,813 local observers from 22 local NGOs will conduct observation mission in the early parliamentary elections,” Mukuchyan also informed.

He added that a total of 70 local mass media, with 1,200 representatives, and 31 foreign mass media, with 80 representatives, have been accredited to cover the voting.

“At the moment, the election is in progress in a normal course,” Tigran Mukuchyan concluded.
