YEREVAN. – The wiretapped recording of a phone conversation between acting PM Nikol Pashinyan and the head of National Security Service was edited as the organizers cut the excerpts that were no useful to them, head of the service Artur Vanetsyan said.

Asked whether the part where he tells the PM that the judge called him and said he is afraid of making judgment on the arrest of the second president, Vanetysan said when talking to the PM, the head of NSS should be limited to brief reporting.  Vanetsyan said during their phone conversation Pashinyan demanded ensuring independence for courts.

The journalists reminded Vanetsyan of his own words: “the court will now arrest”. When asked how he managed to predetermine the court’s decision, he noted: “I have not predetermined anything. I know a lot of things, even more than you could imagine. No, I did not know about the arrest, I knew that a trial was underway. I did say arrest? Well, maybe I made a reservation.”

Vanetsyan said he did nothing to be ashamed as NSS director as a parent and as a son.
