YEREVAN.- The extraordinary parliamentary elections did not become the basis of the nationwide benefit for the velvet regime. The vice-chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Based on the preliminary data of the CEC on the voter turnout, we can give the first political assessments.

The elections, which were the result of direct pressure on the activities of parliament and the result of unprecedented political persecution was attended by less than 50% of voters - 48.63%. This proves that holding parliamentary elections in December was not a “nationwide demand”, but a result of personal political calculations and interests of Nikol Pashinyan.

The Pan-Armenian campaign did not help Nikol Pashinyan, Facebook turned out to be powerless, and the huge administrative resource used did not work, ”he wrote.
