YEREVAN. – Talks and trainings with female soldiers were held at the Armenian peacekeeping brigade, from November 25 to December 10, and in accordance with the agreement signed between the United Nations Population Fund and the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

Samvel Asatryan, head of information department at the Armenian Armed Forces’ staff, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that lectures were also delivered within the framework of these events.

The objective of the talks were to find out female peacekeepers’ ideas toward and expectations from serving in peacekeeping troops, as well as the prospects for professional advancement in military service. Women’s rights in the army were discussed, too.
