YEREVAN.- Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan visited Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan on the second day of his arrest.

“I visited second president Robert Kocahryan and had a conversation with him. We have discussed all the issues under Ombudsman’s jurisdiction,” Tatoyan told the reporters on Friday, adding that corresponding writs, inquiries have been prepared over the voiced issues.

Asked what Kocharyan complained of, Tatoyan said he cannot voice it now as a procedure is ongoing currently and besides he is to guarantee the secrecy of the conversation.
Tatoyan also said it does not matter for Ombudsman of what crime a person is charged with as he is to carry out his functions.

The Ombudsman also said that Robert Kocharyan has not expressed any complaint about the attitude of servicemen of the penitentiary.

As reported earlier, the Court of Appeal upheld the judgement of the first-instance court on remanding Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan. Six prosecutors, including Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, were participating in the hearings that commenced on November 27.
