Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that, during their talk on Thursday, he had sensed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s “sincere disposition” toward resuming talks with Armenia, to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict, RIA Novosti reported.
“We felt his sincere disposition in the matter that the negotiations are restored, that constructive resolutions are found,” Lavrov told reporters. “[And] we [Russia], as a close partner country to both Azerbaijan and Armenia, and as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country, will do everything so that we create the necessary conditions for achieving compromises.”
