YEREVAN. – Head of National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan said it is in his interests that the lawyers of the second president Robert Kocharyan petition to the European Court of Human Rights and get the answers to all questions.
“Defense, a group of lawyers or just a lawyer can contact any body in order to get an answer or a judgement on a particular matter. I do not want to give any assessments or express an opinion on this matter. The ECHR is the structure that will answer this question. I’m probably one of the most interested people about Kocharyan’s lawyers to go to court as soon as possible and get answers to their questions,” said Vanetsyan.
On December 7 Court of Appeal upheld the judgement of the first-instance court on remanding Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan. On the same day Kocharyan decided to go to the Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary in the NSS building on his own.
