YEREVAN. – There is a key difference between the murder of a woman in Gyumri and the Permyakov case, acting PM Nikol Pashinyan told reporters in Dilijan.

In case of Permyakov, a Russian soldier who was convicted for killing six-member Avetisyan family in Gyumri, it was necessary to be convinced of having a deep and comprehensive investigation.

“Up to now relatives [of the Avetisyan family] have doubts whether the case was fully investigated. The place of detention of Permyakov in this context was of certain importance. There is no such a problem in this case, however. What is our task? To see a full investigation or to think about where the soldier is kept? The prosecutor’s office will provide explanations on the matter. The soldier was not detained by Armenian law enforcement officers. He was not detained outside the base,” Pashinyan assured.
