YEREVAN. – A positive “calm” is observed in Armenia’s tourism industry, tourism specialist Hayk Grigoryan said at a press conference on Thursday.

In his words, tourism is one of the few domains in which there is stability.

“A growth is observed in the tourism sector [in Armenia] in 2018, as compared with in 2017,” he noted. “This is primarily due to Armenia’s recognition against the backdrop of important events taking place in the country in recent years, as well as to facilitated [entry] visa procedures.”

Grigoryan stressed that the annual tourist flow into Armenia has exceeded the 1mn mark, and there is need to focus on greater results.
