Outgoing Pentagon chief James Mattis signed an order on withdrawal of the U.S. troops from Syria, CNN reported quoting its source in Defense Department.
According to a U.S. defense official, the order begins to pave the way for exactly how and when US troops will be withdrawn from Syria.
It is expected that the withdrawal will begin in the next several weeks.
