YEREVAN. – 2018 will be remembered as a period achievements for the Artsark Defense Army, commander of the Defense Armey Major Genera Karen Abrahamyan said in his New Year address.

 “In the outgoing year, special attention was paid to a set of measures aimed at strengthening the front line. Measures were taken to effectively organize combat duty, improve safety, establish and target the use of surveillance systems, improve roads, engineering and infrastructure facilities,” the statement reads.

Abrahamyan pointed to the adaptation of army management to modern military requirements. For this purpose, various kinds of theoretical and practical exercises were carried out with the use of special-purpose weapons.

During the year, special attention was paid to the moral and psychological education and raising the level of military discipline among the personnel, he added.

“One of the important achievements of the army is the improvement of the social conditions of servicemen and their families. Hundreds of soldiers received apartments, access to various social programs,” he emphasized.
