The UN General Assembly allocated the expenses of the Organization for the next three years, the UN News Service reported on a new scale of contributions of the member states to its budget.
In accordance with the decision, the US will continue to pay a possible maximum of 22% of all UN expenses. China outstripped Japan and became the second largest payer to the UN regular budget. Beijing will cover over 12% of the entire UN regular budget.
Each country is required to pay a certain share of the total expenses of the Organization.
The largest sponsors included Japan (8.564%), Germany (7%) and France (4.427%).
Russia ranks eighth with 2.405%, Kazakhstan - 0.187%, while all the rest pay less than 0.1%.
Azerbaijan will be obliged to provide 0.049%, Georgia - 0.008%, Armenia - 0.007%.
