YEREVAN. – Secretary of the Security Council Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, on Tuesday had a telephonic conversation with Assistant to the President and Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan, Gabit Bayzhanov.

They exchanged views on the present-day situation in the Kazakh city of Karaganda, the Armenian Security Council secretary’s spokesperson informed.

Grigoryan extended his deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of Zhanseit Bakytzhanul, who was killed in Karaganda.

The interlocutors pointed to the impermissibility of turning this tragedy that had occurred as a result of a domestic dispute into an ethnic conflict.

Also, the two officials underscored the need for conducting a multilateral and transparent investigation and bringing the perpetrators of this crime to account solely within the framework of law and justice.

In addition, they highlighted the need to continue the direct contact between the relevant departments of the two countries.

Three Armenians are among the suspects in the case into the incident that occurred recently in Karaganda.
