YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) “Bright Armenia” [Party] Faction is going to submit a proposal to the parliament, and with respect to creating an NA standing committee on coordinating the activities with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), according to Zhamanak (Time) newspaper.

“Party MP Gevorg Gorgisyan substantiates this proposal of theirs as follows: Armenia is a member country of the EAEU where problems constantly arise.

“In his words, at the [preceding] 6th convocation NA, deputies had to find various platforms, use their connections at various [parliamentary] delegations, or [parliamentary] friendship groups, so that those matters would be raised somehow; but [as per Gorgisyan,] this is not an institutional approach, and [therefore] it would be right that there be such a structure which will deal with those matters. In his words, there is a practical need for this,” wrote Zhamanak.

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
