The US government shutdown broke the historical record, the Associated Press reported. 

The 22-day suspension was the longest in the entire US history, while earlier the record was set by President Bill Clinton.

The White House was up to declare national emergency.

On December 22, 2018, the work of the US government was partially suspended, as the Democrats and Republicans could not agree on a budget.
