Drone footage shot off the Southern California coast shows the breathtaking moment a surfer shared a wave with a pod of dolphins, Daily Mail reported.

The dolphins start swimming alongside the surfer, named by ABC7 Los Angeles as Thousand Oaks firefighter, Alden Blair, near to Ventura.

At one point three dolphins swim alongside Blair, keeping pace.

Blair can't seem to believe his luck and punches the air in appreciation of his new found surfing buddies.
