YEREVAN. – The events of January 1990 in Baku are nothing but a manifestation of genocide against the Armenian population, “Against Legal Arbitrariness” NGO head, first Human Rights Defender of Armenia, and public activist Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters on Friday.
“People were tortured because of their nationality. Over 400 people were killed,” the human rights activist noted, adding, “however, the Armenian authorities have not adopted any document in this regard or any other similar tragedies of massacres.”
“Against Legal Arbitrariness” NGO will appeal to the National Assembly with a request to hold hearings on this issue in order to adopt a resolution, she added.
