While on a working visit to Switzerland, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday met with a group of businessmen in Zurich to discuss the avenues and prospects for implementing various investment programs in Armenia.

At his meeting with president Mike Baronian of the Swiss-Armenian Chamber of Commerce, Nikol Pashinyan discussed investment programs in pharmaceutical industry. Also, Baronian spoke about some other investment projects on energy production and copper recycling through advanced technologies.

Separately, Swiss entrepreneur Hans Schweigard presented to Armenia’s PM a major investment project in solar energy production. Welcoming the businessman’s initiative, Pashinyan outlined his government’s strategy in the energy sector and the prospects for developing this domain.

Next, Nikol Pashinyan met with a group of entrepreneurs, led by Swiss Armenian businessman and philanthropist Vartan Sirmakes. The implementation of investment projects in Armenia’s agriculture, food industry, construction, banking, jewelry, watch-making, and vocational education were discussed during this talk.

The Prime Minister, for his part, assured the Armenian government’s willingness to support the proposed investment programs. Nikol Pashinyan added that the steps toward improving Armenia’s business climate will be continued as the government is eager to draw new job-extensive investments into the country.
