YEREVAN. – Deputy Foreign Minister Grigor Hovhannissian on Monday met with the new ambassador of Benin to Armenia, Noukpo Clément Kiki, whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow.

First, Ambassador Kiki presented the copies of his credentials to Deputy FM Hovhannissian, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Hovhannissian congratulated the diplomat on handing the copies of his credentials, and wished him productive work. The Beninese ambassador, for his part, noted that during his tenure he will endeavor to intensify Armenia-Benin relations to the extent possible.

Subsequently, the interlocutors reflected on the opportunities and prospects for the development of ties between the two countries, and the need for further intensification of Armenia-Benin cooperation within international organizations.

Also, the Armenian deputy FM and the Beninese ambassador discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict as well as the current geopolitical situation in Africa.
