The next challenge for the young democracy of Armenia is to foster economic strength, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“We have huge success in democracy, but also big challenges, and that is to make our democracy stronger economically,” he said during “Shaping the Future of Democracy” discussion.  “Our goal is to make our citizens stronger economically. We are going to create a new sector in our economic structure. We are going to create a new category – micro-business – and to make it free from taxes, hoping that we will inspire our people.”

Pashinyan said their goal is to explain that not only government is responsible for overcoming the poverty, but people have to act, too.

Armenian PM emphasized that government’s main challenge is “to make stronger our democracy economically” and to attract new foreign investment”.
