YEREVAN. – At its Cabinet meeting on Thursday, the Government of Armenia has made a decision to establish—on the precept of reciprocity—a visa-free regime for the holders of the passports of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China.

The explanation for this decision states, in particular, that Armenia-China relations and cooperation record new progress on an annual basis.

The adoption of this decision will enable the holders of Armenia and Hong Kong passports access to one another’s territories and stay there without visas, and within the timeframes specified by domestic law.

The decision is aimed at increasing tourist inflow from Hong Kong to Armenia, as well as trade and economic ties between them.

Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted that, accordingly, Armenian citizens can stay in Hong Kong for 30 days without a visa, whereas a 180-day visa-free stay in Armenia will be set for the holders of Hong Kong passports.
