Ankara and Moscow have the same position on a Syrian settlement, but not over the Syrian President Bashar Assad’s future, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu.
“We are on the same page with Russia except for Assad,” Hurryiet Daily reported quoting FM.
“They obviously want to continue with him. But we tell them ‘a man responsible for the death of more than one million Syrians cannot bring about unity’,” he added.
The armed conflict in Syria has been going on since March 2011. Russia, Turkey and Iran are the guarantors of a truce in Syria.
