The lawyers of Yuri Khachaturov, the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s former secretary general, are going to apply to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to dispute their client's arrest, one of the lawyers, Mihran Poghosyan told TASS on Friday.

Mihran Poghosyan, said the domestic courts have not properly considered their arguments, including the impermissibility of the arrest without established evidence and the diplomatic immunity clause applying to the former military official. “The arrest ruling, obviously, is not legally valid ... With the domestic instances expired, we are now preparing to lodge an appeal with the ECHR ,” Poghosyan said.
