YEREVAN. – The policy of continued improvement of the complementary system for military service is among the important priorities for the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia. 

Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan said the abovementioned during Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s consultation Saturday with the executives from the MOD and the senior officers of the Armed Forces. Tonoyan noted this as he presented the main tasks of Armenia’s defense system for 2019.

“We also view increasing the efficiency of the management of our material and human resources (…) as a key priority,” he noted, in particular. “We must continue to work also on increasing the combat-readiness of the armed forces.”

The defense minister added that the promotion of military industry, as well as continued development of international cooperation also are among the 2019 priorities of Armenia’s defense sector.

During the consultation, PM Pashinyan also gave relevant assignments to those in charge of this domain in the country.
