At the Feb. 25 meeting of the Business Promotion Council, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan addressed business environment reforms.

The Armenian Government`s press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Premier Sargsyan reminded the participants of one of the major points of President Serzh Sargsyan`s election program: Armenia must rank among the first ten world leaders in terms of Doing Business index.

First Deputy Minister of Economy Karine Minasyan informed the meeting of the implementation of the Government-initiated business environment reforms in terms of Doing Business index.

She pointed out reforms of tax and customs administration and simplified requirements for opening up and developing business. Mrs. Minasyan also informed the meeting of the measures aimed at SME promotion.

The meeting also discussed businessmen`s remarks concerning the prospects for economic development and improvement of business and investment environment in Armenia.

The Armenian Premier welcomed most of the proposals and instructed the Council and heads of the relevant agencies to consider them at task groups` sittings.
