Selahattin Demirtaş, former co-chairman of the opposition pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) of Turkey, has been nominated in Sweden for a Nobel Prize.

Swedish MP and human rights defender Thomas Hammarberg has nominated Demirtaş, who is currently in prison in Turkey, for the Nobel Peace Prize, Bianet of Turkey reported.

Selahattin Demirtaş is one of the well-known Kurdish figures who have recognized and condemned Armenian Genocide.
