Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin congratulated on Saturday all the people who serve in defending the fatherland - Russia and Armenia, as Armenia marked Defender of the Fatherland Day.

According to him, Armenia and Russia “have very close allied relations, which have a long history. The history of the Russian Armed Forces is inextricably linked with the history of the Armenian people. The Armenians played a huge role in the formation of the Russian Armed Forces."

He reminded that 102 base is deployed in Armenia, and Russian border guards are involved in the protection of the Armenian border.

Asked to comment on military cooperation, Sergey Kopyrkin noted its consistent character.

“Programs are being implemented constantly,” he added.
