YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) of Armenia MPs Gayane Abrahamyan, Taguhi Ghazaryan, Zaruhi Hovhannisyan and Sos Avetisyan as well as some members of the “Citizen’s Decision” Social Democratic Party attended a seminar devoted to the reforms in the justice system of neighboring Georgia. The event was held in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi.

Gayane Abrahamyan, a member of the majority “My Step” Faction at the NA, said it is important to study Georgia’s track-record in this domain because this country is comparable to Armenia, both politically and culturally.

As per Abrahamyan, the Georgians have recorded a quite substantial breakthrough.

“Georgia has  great progress with the level of their [judicial reforms] application,” the Armenian MP noted, in particular.

Also, Gayane Abrahamyan pointed to some changes that are indispensable in Armenia. And in particular, she attached great importance to the introduction of mechanisms for judicial monitoring.
