Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Quds unit commander, Major General Qassem Soleimani called on Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to withdraw his resignation letter, Tasnim reported.

According to Soleimani, Zarif enjoys the support and approval of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Soleimani pointed to the reasons for the recent decision of Zarif to announce his resignation, noting that due to some lack of coordination from the presidential office during the recent meeting of the Iranian and Syrian presidents in Tehran, Zarif was not at that meeting, which caused his outrage.

President Hassan Rouhani did not sign Zarif’s resignation.
