Armenian ministry of education provided explanation in connection with a collection of Azerbaijani fairy tales and stories which appeared in Armenia.

The reports about a book appeared in 168Zham newspaper. In response to numerous inquiries by the Armenian media, the Ministry said the book was published within the project implemented by “Save the Children” organization and was to teach children to be tolerant.

The book is intended for homeroom teachers and was approved back in 2008 by the Ministry of Education and Science. The book includes stories created for the three countries – Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan – based on Russian-language scenarios.

The collection of stories was re-published in Armenia in 2016 with the funding of the UN High Commissioner on Refugees within the project of integration of the children coming to Armenia from Syria. In 2019 the book was re-published by the Armenian Red Cross Society.
