A nonviolent, velvet, people’s revolution took place last year in Armenia, and it’s very important to us that all layers of society in Russia accurately grasp its substance, its causes.
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated the abovementioned in an interview with Russian News Agency TASS. He stated this when asked about today’s main agenda of Armenian-Russian negotiations.
“Unfortunately, until now, many expert circles in Russia are attempting to present what occurred in Armenia as an event in the series of so-called ‘color revolutions,’” the PM noted. “But it’s very important to us that our Russian friends and colleagues realize that what took place [in Armenia] has no geopolitical context, and [that] no foreign power was involved in the process. It’s a matter of national dignity, and a matter of my personal dignity.
“Armenia is an independent country, an independent nation with a high sense of dignity.”
In his words, being reliable partners is very important to Armenia.
“And we [Armenia] will be a reliable partner to everyone whom we consider our reliable partner,” Nikol Pashinyan added, in particular.
