First, we have to do that which we were sent to do there. It is very important for doctors to work actively. They have already conducted several small surgeries and helped a lot of people. This is what Armenia’s Premier Nikol Pashinyan informed in an interview to TASS in response to the question on whether Armenia plans on expanding the humanitarian assistance program in Syria or not.

“Humanitarian assistance is very important for Armenia, and it is the sole purpose of Armenia’s mission in Aleppo. I will consider this mission a success when I see that our representatives have helped the descendants of people who barely escaped the massacres in the Ottoman Empire. This is a historic and humanitarian mission for Armenia, and we simply want to pay back our debt to the friendly and fraternal Syrians. As far as the demining process is concerned, I picture Armenians paving a safe path so that Syrian children can play safely, and our doctors have to provide people with treatment. So, this is a humanitarian mission in the direct sense and in the metaphorical sense,” Pashinyan noted.
