Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Gegham Gevorgyan today hosted Executive Director of the famous Italian Bruno Sforni reinsurance brokerage Bruno Sforni, reported the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture to NEWS.am.

Among the participants of the meeting were Deputy Minister of Agriculture Artak Kamalyan, Head of the Department for Sustainability and Development of the Financial System of the Central Bank of Armenia Andranik Grigoryan, Executive Director of the National Agency of Agriculture Insurers Anna Vardikyan and Deputy Director Narek Hovakimyan.

In the beginning, Bruno Sforni provided details about his company’s activities, particularly the history and experience in agricultural insurance and emphasized that the company is interested in the agricultural insurance program being introduced in Armenia and is ready to make contributions by providing consulting, sharing knowledge and experience and carrying out reinsurance brokerage.

Greeting the guest, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture stated that agricultural insurance is a new tool in Armenia and that the Italian experience can be useful for local insurers.

Narek Hovakimyan stated that there would be several meetings with Armenian insurance companies to determine the potential cooperation and the format of cooperation. He added that 6 regions of Armenia have been selected this year within the scope of the pilot agricultural insurance program and 3 Armenian insurance companies have already expressed the desire to participate in the program.
