The number of cash register coupons printed in January-February 2019 has increased by 12.5 million compared with the same period of the previous year, and as a result, the recorded trade turnover has increased by AMD 35 billion in the months of January and February. This is what Armenia’s Premier Nikol Pashinyan said during a question-and-answer session with government officials at the National Assembly on 6 March. This came after Deputy of the My Step Alliance Hamazasp Danielyan asked the Premier if there were noticeable changes in regard to cash register coupons following the Premier’s calls for changes.

“There is an unprecedented development. As a result of this, we are more confident in the process of collecting state revenues in 2019, the Premier said.

However, Pashinyan said the political message was more important. “Today, in essence, we are dealing with the government-citizen-business community partnership. The public continues to express its confidence in the government and the National Assembly through its actions,” he said, expressing gratitude to citizens and businessmen for their “epoch-making cooperation”.
