One of the regular charity programs of Armenia’s trade banks is geared towards technical rearmament of educational institutions in the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic).

The cooperation between the Union of Banks of Armenia and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Artsakh has helped shape the demand for computer technologies required for educational institutions, and this has led to the provision of relevant accessories by banks of Armenia.

According to the preliminary demand, more than 40 schools of the Martuni, Askeran, Hadrut, Shushi, Martakert, Kashatagh and Shahumyan regions of the Republic of Artsakh were in need of computers.

The 13 banks that participated in this strategically important initiative for the development of schools in the Republic of Artsakh and increase of learners’ computer literacy have provided over 100 computers and monitors, nearly two dozens of printers, as well as projectors and other related equipment.

As a result of the support provided by Armenia’s banks, educational institutions of Artsakh have received equipment exceeding the previously established demand.

On 7 March, the equipment provided by the trade banks was transferred to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Artsakh to be allocated to the relevant schools, and several banks directly delivered their donations to various educational institutions in Artsakh.
