This is an initial, interim version of the Tax Code, and to a great extent, it is not a change in the Tax Code. This is what Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly Babken Tunyan told journalists on 12 March.

According to him, the amendments proposed under the draft Tax Code are for solutions to pressing issues, while global changes will be made over time and in line with the declared economic objectives.

Tunyan clarified that the tax amendments will be made in two stages. “The amendments to be made in the second stage will not keep economic operators in uncertainty. It is impossible to develop a serious tax code immediately since it will lead to bigger problems.”
