On 12 March, Deputy Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Alen Simonyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazayev.

As reported the National Assembly to NEWS.am, the interlocutors touched upon the issues on advancement of the agenda for bilateral partnership.

Alen Simonyan attached importance to further development of the relations between the two countries and the deepening of inter-parliamentary relations. In this context, the deputy parliamentary speaker informed that the National Assembly would soon form an Armenia-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group that would play an active role in the expansion of mutual ties.

The parties also touched upon the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Alen Simonyan, considering the calls of Armenia’s neighboring country hindering the establishment of peace and the military rhetoric, emphasized that there can be no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the conflict. In his turn, the ambassador attached importance to the peaceful settlement of conflicts.

Timur Urazayev talked about the perspectives for partnership with Armenia within the scopes of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization and presented the priorities of Kazakhstan within both organizations.

Issues on the expansion of bilateral relations in several sectors were touched upon during the meeting.
