On 12 March, the Armenia-Bulgaria business forum kicked off in Yerevan as part of the session of the Armenian-Bulgarian inter-governmental commission and is aimed at discussing the opportunities and perspectives for business in Armenia and Bulgaria, as well as for trade and economic relations between the two countries, as reported the news service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia to NEWS.am.

Armenia’s Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan; co-chair of the Bulgarian party to the Armenian-Bulgarian inter-governmental commission, Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communication of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Zhelyazkov; Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan; Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria Alexander Manolev and President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Arsen Ghazaryan gave their welcoming remarks at the forum.

“Armenia can become quite attractive for Bulgarian partners. Bulgarian importers and distributors might be interested in the fact that Armenia has the GSP+ agreement with the European Union and that most Armenian commodities can be imported into the European Union through a zero or reduced customs duty,” Armenia’s Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan stated in his speech.

Investor Relations Manager of Business Armenia Foundation Aram Vardanyan presented Armenia’s investment opportunities, while Director of the Marketing Board of the Invest Bulgaria Agency Teodora Stavreva presented the investment climate in Bulgaria.

The forum has gathered nearly 150 businessmen from Armenia and Bulgaria and features B2B meetings that will provide Armenian and Bulgarian businessmen with the opportunity to discuss joint business projects and the perspectives for mutually beneficial cooperation.
