Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava has provided details about the agreement with the Russian Gazprom company on the transit for supplying gas to Armenia through the territory of Georgia, reports Sputnik-Gruzia.

“Despite the very complicated and ongoing negotiations, we were governed by two main principles, and both have been maintained. First of all, this is energetic independence and Georgia’s security,” Turnava said during the briefing.

According to her, Georgia managed to achieve some success. Turnava mentioned that the cost of the transit has increased, yet the cost of Russian gas has decreased.

As far as prices are concerned, Turnava didn’t specify them. “I can’t state figures. This is the very essence of the commercial secret, but I am talking about the dynamics that favors us in both cases,” she emphasized.
