If Armenia is holding a meeting of the Security Council in Stepanakert, there is no need to engage the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh in the negotiations to resolve the conflict.

Leyla Abdullayeva, spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, stated about the abovementioned to Trend news agency of Azerbaijan. She noted this while commenting on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) to attend the joint meeting of the security councils of Armenia and Artsakh, in the latter’s capital city of Stepanakert.

“I can say that everything is being put in its right place,” Abdullayeva said. “If the Armenian prime minister holds an extraordinary meeting of his country’s Security Council in Azerbaijan’s occupied Khankendi [i.e. Stepanakert] city, then there is no need to make efforts to involve the Armenians of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of our country in the negotiations.

“The [Armenian] prime minister, who voiced the idea of ‘Karabakh Armenians,’ put an end to the word game, saying that the Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh region are the Armenian community, rather than the ‘nation.’”
