YEREVAN. – Miroslav Lajčák, Chairman-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, has confirmed that the Slovakian chairmanship-in-office at the OSCE will assist in the search for a resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict, and in the activities of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.

At Wednesday’s press conference in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, Lajčák stressed that man is at the focus of Slovakia’s OSCE chairmanship-in-office, and that the main theses are man, dialogue, and stability.

The OSCE Chairman-in-Office noted that their objective is to build a safe future, and that he has come to the region at the beginning of Slovakia’s OSCE chairmanship-in-office because he wants to hear the people and understand the situation.

Miroslav Lajčák expressed a view that even though there are many challenges, there is a foundation for giving positive impetus to the process.

Also, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office stressed the importance of creating a climate of trust, preparing the people for peace, and continuing the talks.
