Armenian President Armen Sarkissian will visit Georgia at the invitation of President Salome Zurabishvili, Armen Sarkissian said in a press statement after a meeting with her Georgian counterpart who arrived in Yerevan on an official visit.

Welcoming Salome Zurabishvili and Georgian delegation, the President said the relations of the two countries are characterized by mutual understanding and common traditions.

According to him, the development of relations with Georgia has its special place in the Armenian foreign policy.

Talks with a colleague were effective, a discussion of issues on the agenda of bilateral relations took place, he said adding that Armenia is always interested in peace and security in the region, as well as in cooperation.
