Premier Nikol Pashinyan received OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák. Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Anjey Kasprzik also participated in the meeting, as reported the news service of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to NEWS.am.

Welcoming Mirsolav Lajčák’s visit, Premier Pashinyan stated that Armenia attaches importance to the role of the OSCE in ensuring security in the region, human rights protection and the promotion of sustainable development. He emphasized that Armenia is ready to support the advancement of the priorities of Slovakia’s chairmanship in the OSCE. Nikol Pashinyan voiced hope that the active partnership with the OSCE would contribute to effective implementation of the reforms agenda of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and to the strengthening of democracy in Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon several issues on the OSCE agenda, highlighting the need to resist the challenges facing the organization through combined efforts.

Premier Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia’s support to an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the scope of the chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group and presented Armenia’s approaches and fundamental position on this. He also touched upon the future actions envisaged within the scope of the peace process.

The parties attached importance to undertaking credible steps to introduce mechanisms for the creation of a favorable atmosphere for peace, the promotion of contacts between people, risks reduction and prevention of incidents and to introduce confidence-building measures.
