The US federal prosecutor's office is conducting a criminal investigation into the sale of user data that Facebook has entered into with a number of global technology giants, Daily Mail reported.

According to the source, a grand jury in New York demanded to provide records from at least two well-known manufacturers of gadgets. Both companies have entered into a partnership with Facebook, gaining broad access to the personal information of hundreds of millions of its users.
