On 15 March, Armenia’s Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan received President of the Association for Promoting Safety of People, Property and Environment Bernard Jeanine.

Greeting Mr. Jeanine, Minister Tsolakyan attached importance to the implementation of different programs between the Association and the Ministry.

In the circle of population's awareness, prevention and elimination of consequences, Minister Felix Tsolakyan particularly set aside awareness, and in this context, he highly appreciated the implementation of educational programs through the engagement of the French party and the technical assistance that France has provided to Armenia.

“Being powerless is a bad thing. So, it is constantly necessary to prepare citizens for possible emergency situations so that citizens know what to do in the particular situation before rescuers arrive,” Felix Tsolakyan stated.

President of the Association Bernard Jeanine expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and expressed the desire and willingness to continue the work that has been done to this day.

Rector of the Crisis Management State Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Hamlet Matevosyan attached special importance to the personal contributions of Bernard Jeanine to getting acquainted with the experience of Armenia’s rescuers, the heads of subdivisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as governors, mayors and heads of dangerous facilities in population protection and conducting a training in France.

Minister Felix Tsolakyan also thanked Bernard Jeanine for his active participation in the rescue efforts during the Spitak Earthquake and for his humanitarian actions in the years that followed. At the end, the Crisis Management State Academy of the Ministry of Emergency and the Association for Promoting Safety of People, Property and Environment of France signed a cooperation agreement that will provide the opportunity to improve the quality of instruction and apply methods in line with European standards, contributing to the capacity-building of the Academy and the Association.
