There are some objective obstacles before the economic development of Artsakh.

Davit Babayan, Deputy Head of Presidential Staff and Head of the General Information Department of Presidential Staff of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR), stated the aforesaid in a Facebook livestream.

As per Babayan, first, relations with Azerbaijan are not normalized, and, second, the Republic of Artsakh is not recognized as an independent country, and this creates objective difficulties in terms of development and strengthening of ties with other countries and economic circles.

He added, however, that these obstacles are surmountable.

In Babayan’s words, these difficulties may also become impetus for Artsakh’s domestic resources to be used more effectively.

“We [Artsakh] have promising branches [of economy],” he stressed, in particular. “And we can ensure a dynamic economic growth for long years.”
