This year’s Francophonie festival in Washington D.C. on Saturday kicked off at the French embassy, and with an evening devoted to legendary French Armenian artist, the late Charles Aznavour, the Voice of America reported. 

In his address at the event, Armenia’s ambassador to the United States and chairperson of this Francophonie festival, Varuzhan Nersesyan, noted that Aznavour’s image was able to embody the substance of Francophonie—with his depth and, at the same time, diversity.
