YEREVAN. – The NATO-Georgia Exercise 2019 multinational military exercises being held in Georgia are not related to our combat-readiness; it’s not a military exercise that interests us.

Artsrun Hovhannisyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am. He noted this when asked why Armenia was not participating in these military exercises that kicked off Monday.

“We [Armenia] didn’t need this scenario of the military exercises,” he said.

In Hovhannisyan’s words, in this case it is not crucial whether or not there was an invitation to these exercises.

“We are working with NATO in the formats that are important to our security,” the MOD spokesperson added.
