On 18 March, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Armenia Mohammed Issa Ali Al Zaabi.

As reported the Information System of the Mother See to NEWS.am, congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, His Holiness wished him fruitful activities for further strengthening of the Armenian-Arab partnership.

During the conversation, the Supreme Patriarch emphasized that the Armenian-Arab relations trace back to centuries and, with gratitude, recorded the fact that several Armenians took shelter in Arab countries following the Armenian Genocide. His Holiness also touched upon the existing cooperation between the two countries with satisfaction.

Ambassador Mohammad Issa Ali Al Zaabi expressed joy over the meeting, talked about his plans and informed the Catholicos of All Armenians that the United Arab Emirates has declared the year 2019 as a year of tolerance.
