On March 16, Armen Baibourtian, Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles, paid a visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Fresno, California, The Fresno Bee reported.
Baibourtian was accompanied by Joseph Castro, President of California State University, Fresno; and Berj Apkarian, Honorary Consul for Armenia in Fresno.
They laid flowers at the memorial, and observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of this tragedy.
This monument, Baibourtian said, is a symbol of prevention.
“It shows that no more tragedies like genocide should occur,” he added.
